This report and the analysis behind were commissioned by the Danish Energy Agency in November 2021 to address questions about CO2 emissions related to the current and future use of forest biomass for district heat and electricity production in Denmark. The analytical framework and approach build largely on previous work [1,2]. Details on assumptions and calculations can be found here. Major changes and new data are presented in this report. Confidential process and supply chain data for the initial analysis was partly updated and reused for this analysis in agreement with Danish Energy and Danish District Heating Association.
